Episode 41 - Honoring William

In today’s episode, we talk to Jasmine about her late son William, who passed away at nine weeks old in September 2017 after battling a rare genetic neuromuscular condition. Jasmine shares how she and her husband understood that grief comes in different forms for each person and the couple gave each other space and time to be upset.

One day after learning of William’s diagnosis, the NICU staff helped the couple take their son outside for the first time in his life. Now in his honor, Jasmine and James are raising funds to upgrade a unit’s battery pack so that families at that hospital (@matermothers) can take their child out for a few hours, rather than the 30-40 minutes that William got.

When describing her son, Jasmine says he was gentle, loving, and resilient. Also in this episode, Jasmine mentions the fundraiser walk that was hosted by Life's Little Treasures (@lltfoz). The couple’s love for the outdoors has been passed on to their 2-year-old daughter Pippa, who is loves to swim.
